Guardian Auto is the newest company in the auto glass industry to recycle windscreens. Customers of four of the firm's distribution centers can return broken windscreens to Guardian to be recycled.
"We are excited about our new green initiative," announces Scott Billings, director of distribution operations for Guardian Automotive. "Windshield recycling is a win / win we are doing the right thing for the environment by keeping windshields out of landfills and we are helping our clients scale back their waste costs."
The company plans to grow the program to the other eight distribution centres soon. The four centres now participating are Detroit, Cincinnati, Findlay and Atlanta.
"We've received plenty of great feedback from our customers," claims Billings. "Once we put the new boxes out and communicated with our customers, we immediately commenced seeing damaged windshields being returned.".
