“Men in Black” star Will Smith backs higher taxes…until he hears France’s proposed rate! Rob Houglum LLMedia Tuesday, May 15, 2012
Will Smith has been a vocal advocate of Barack Obama and his plan to extend taxes on the welathy, but during a trip to France he was asked if he would support a seventy five percent taxation rate exactly what is being suggested by new Socialist President of France.
Business Insider explains, "The Hollywood megastar enthusiastically preached the book of paying one's fair share of taxes in a French TV interview this weekend."
"But when questioned about his take on the tax policy of French president-elect Franois Hollande, Smith's was shocked stupid by the proposal of a seventy five % taxation rate on those earning above 1,000,000 annually," reported BI's Alex Biles.
"I have no difficulty with Will Smith," Glenn said at the start of the video.
Glenn explained that Smith shares the same opinion as many in Hollywood that the rich have to pay more in taxes.
In the interview, Smith replies with a "God Bless America" and a giggle upon hearing President-elect Hollande's suggested rate of seventy five %.
"You can see the particular shock of that number," Stu asserted. "( Smith ) is not a tax expert in Western european economics. It strikes him as surprising as it should strike you."
